Kim Andrews

Business Manager

Kim originally joined our team in 2013 and came from the dealership world. Kim was born and raised right here in Cary, NC, and has been interested in cars since she was a teenager. She has been working in the industry as a service writer since 2007. Kim went to work with her husband in 2019 and rejoined us in 2022. We are so glad to have her back! She has a wide variety of excellent skills, including service writing, inventory management and accounting. She says she is not afraid to get dirty and is a tomboy at heart, which everyone at the shop agrees with! When asked what she is most passionate about, she will quickly reply “Anthony” – her son. She also loves participating in fundraising, particularly those centered around animals or children, as she says “they are the most defenseless of us all”. Her weakness – Starbucks Frappuccinos, especially the vanilla!

Matt Newcomer

Shop Foreman

Matt has been with us at Import Motor Werks since 2008. An ASE Master Technician, he began his journey in auto repair in 1996 prior to attending Universal Technician Institute in Chicago, IL. After that he attended an in depth apprenticeship program with Porsche. With a solid foundation, he was able to start honing his skills for a number of years at a Porsche dealership in Cary before transitioning to an independent shop. With over two decades of professional experience working on European and Asian automobiles, he has cultivated a profound understanding of the craft. In his leisure time, Matt indulges his passion for vintage cars, currently undertaking the ambitious project of modernizing a 1949 Chevrolet. He is happily married to Kelli, and together they are raising two boys. Known for his quick wit and sharp sense of humor, Matt brings a unique perspective to the team, always ready to tackle any challenge that comes his way. Whether it’s mending a broken appliance or engaging in spirited banter, he thrives on problem-solving. He appreciates the relaxed atmosphere and customer-focused ethos of our Cary car repair shop, making it a perfect fit for his talents and personality.

Jacob Tillery

Service Technician

Jacob “Jake” Tillery has been with IMW for the past 15 years of his 25 year career as an automotive technician.  Jake is a well-rounded technician with great experience and a very well stocked large toolbox.  He comes in every day ready to give 120% and doesn’t mind getting dirty and working hard!  He strives to accomplish his goals at work and then looks forward to getting home to his wife and two sons.  His wife, Meghan, is a talented and hardworking teacher.  In Jake’s free time, he enjoys classic muscle cars and helping friends and family members.  Jake is always willing to lend a helping hand to others.  In addition, he will always take the time to explain anything to a newer technician, service advisor or the owners of our company.  He has exhibited patience when teaching something to any of us and never gets frustrated by our questions.  In addition, Jake is now handling most of the duties of Facilities Manager, which includes maintenance on building items, as well as coming up with creative solutions to problems and implementing those.  We are grateful to have someone as versatile as Jake here with us!

Gabriel Sanchez

Service Technician

Gabe joined our team October of 2023 coming from a AAA service center with a variety of experience in different brands. Although he’s one of our younger team members he has an impressive 4 years of experience in the industry and excels in electrical diagnostics. He enjoys working on the older BMW vehicles the most, such as the E46 3 series and E39 5 series but has found it interesting to see how the methods and engineering has progressed in each new model to be released. In his home life he enjoys lots of motorsports and drag racing and is a particularly big fan of Cleetus McFarland. Similarly to Cleetus he is also interested in aviation and hopes to pursue that more as a hobby in the future. He spends his weekends putting in the work learning and building his experience but always makes time for his best buddy, his weiner dog, Pablo.

Melody McGlame

Service Advisor

Melody came to work for us in January of 2023 from a local Ford dealership, but we actually met her two years ago as a customer! She brought us her 2006 BMW 325i, and we’ve been caring for it ever since. She first started as a service advisor in 2014, at her hometown Ford dealership in Tomball, Texas. She had always had interest in the automotive industry and grew up assisting her father, a passionate German car enthusiast and mechanic. She’s worked at dealers all over the country in Washington, Alabama, Louisiana, Utah and Massachusetts. She moved down here in 2020 and is ready to put down roots. In her personal time she’s just as involved with cars as her profession, attending as many events as time allows. She regularly attends Morrisville Cars and Coffee each month with her young son, Mason, so make sure you’re on the lookout for her red E90 if you’re there.
